FLAGGING PROCEDURES

  1. The pole sitter or race leader starts the race or restarts in the starting zone designated by cones on the inside of the track. The race starts once the leader, or pole sitter reaches the second cone.
  2. The main concern of the flagman/ race director at the start of the race will be to have a fair start. The speed of the start will be the second concern. Racing before the green flag (designated start area) may result in disqualification at the flagman /race director’s discretion.
  3. If the flagman / race director determines if a car jumps on the start or restart of the race, that car will be docked 2 positions on the next flag in the race. Example: if the yellow flag is the next flag the car will be docked 2 positions on the restart line up and if the checkered flag is the next flag the car will be docked 2 positions in the finishing order.
  4. When the green flag is displayed the race has begun for everyone.
  5. The race will start single file formation at the race director’s discretion.
  6. The flagman will display the yellow flag when officials determine cars are dead on the track. It is a judgement call made by our officials that will determine which driver caused the caution.
  7. One yellow flag is a maximum per car in the head and the b-main races. The first caution a driver causes in the feature will result in going tail of the field. The second caution the driver causes will result in the driver being sent to the pits. (Officials have the right to disqualify drivers for questionable driving at their discretion.)
  8. Hot Pits will be in the infield.
  9. If a car goes to their pit stall, they will not be allowed back into the race.
  10. Restarts on cautions are side by side with the leader of the race having front row. This means the leader is the only car in the front row, and the leader has the option of starting in either the inside or outside position. Second place car has the choice of either inside or outside of the second row and the third position will line up in the opposite line. Third row and back line up even numbered positions are on the inside line, and odd number positions are on the outside line.
  11. When the red flag comes out, all cars will safely stop on the racing surface, making sure not to block any emergency exits from the infield. Cars are not allowed to move or pit until advised by the flag man, race director or on the receiver.
  12. These flagging procedures are part of and in addition to the racing procedures and safety regulations set forth.

SAFETY REGULATIONS

  1. Pit areas will be restricted to race cars, one tow vehicle per car, wreckers, ambulances, fire trucks and club vehicles.
  2. The flag man/race director may disqualify a car during racing for safety reasons if necessary.
  3. No one under the age of 16 is allowed to drive a modified. No one is allowed to drive a race car without being eligible for a state drivers license or based on any stipulations outlined by our insurance company. Anyone under the age of 18 must have the proper insurance waiver signed. Drivers under the age of 18 are required to submit to IMCA a NOTARIZED parental consent form signed by both parents or guardians along with a birth certificate prior to competition.
  4. Fire suits and shoes are mandatory for all classes and are required to always be worn when on the track. All fire suits must be in good condition with no holes or tears.
  5. Helmets, seat belts, shoulder harness, gloves, shoes, neck braces, and face shields are required and must always be working when on the track regardless of class.
  6. Each car must have a working fire extinguisher in the tow vehicle or trailer. This will be checked at the gate prior to entering the facility.
  7. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR ILLIGAL DRUGS may be opened or ingested in the pit are prior to the drop of the last checkered flag. If a driver or pitman is found to be drinking alcoholic beverages or ingesting illegal drugs in the pits before the drop of the last checkered flag of the might, the driver WILL be disqualified for the remainder of the race program. The driver and all pitmen will be required to leave the pit area. Use of alcohol or ingesting illegal drugs will result in suspension on/or a fine. DRIVERS AND PITMEN MAY BE SUBJECT TO RANDOM TESTING AT ANY POINT THROUGH OUT THE RACING NIGHT. THERE IS A ZERO TOLERANCE FOR DRIVER.
  8. Shirts must be worn in the pit areas. This rule includes all people who are in the pit area.
  9. Any disturbance in the pit area, racing surface, and/or official areas may result in suspension and/or fine. The DRIVER is responsible for the conduct of his/her pit crew.

Per updated 2026 IMCA Regulations -2026 general procedures- Page 8- automatic penalties.  the following will apply.


  1. Fighting and/or physical assault: first violation, minimum $250.00 fine and/or suspension. Second violation is a minimum $500.00 fine and a minimum two-week suspension. Third violation is a minimum one-year suspension.
  2. Unsportsmanlike conduct and/or verbal assault: First violation, minimum $100.00 fine and/or suspension. Second violation is a minimum $250.00 fine and minimum two-week suspension. Third violation is a minimum one-year suspension.
  3. Rough driving- penalties including fines, suspensions and points to be at discretion of the track officials, and IMCA may impose penalties based on the severity of incident.
  4. Any driver intentionally uses his/her vehicle in a malicious manner: minimum $250.00 fine and/or suspension at discretion of the officials and IMCA.
  5. Physical assault of an IMCA representative, track official, or promoter: first violation is a fine of no less than $1,000.00 and/or suspension of the driver for no less than 21 days.

10. Jack stands must be used whenever work is being performed under the racecar.

11. Only ONE (1) sport vehicle (ATV, golf cart, scooter or cycle) is allowed per race car. All sport vehicles must remain        inside the area controlled by WBRA. All movement of sport vehicles outside of the individual’s immediate pit area will     cease (30) minutes after the completion of the last feature.

12. No pit crew members are allowed on the racing surface at anytime during the race.


Failure to comply with the above may result in fines, suspension or disqualification.

RACE PROCEDURES

  1. All cars have five (5) minutes to report to the track for packing when notified. NO EXCEPTIONS! All cars must pack when notified.
  2. Prior to each race the race officials shall conduct a driver meeting for the explanation of the rules and any specific regulations applying to the race. All drivers and pit crews are required to attend and will be held responsible for the matters discussed at the drivers meeting as if they were present.
  3. Cars will line up in the pits before each race in the staging area.
  4. There will be no less than five (5) cars per race. The number of cars in the heat will be determined by the race officials.
  5. The pit steward or lap counters may change the line-up if necessary.
  6. Any car whose speed is greatly less than the other competing may be considered by track officials to be a safety hazard and may be removed from the racing surface (black flag).
  7. All track incidents are subject to the flagman/ race director’s discretion as to the realignment of the cars. Scoring goes back to the last completed lap.
  8. The flag man/ race officials have the right to disqualify anyone for an event for the rest of the nights racing for misconduct or not complying with he rules. Any car disregarding the black flag will be disqualified for the remainder of the night’s events and may be subject to suspension and/or fine.
  9.   Possum rule: any car deemed to stop on the track purposely to bring out a caution will be disqualified from the race. That will be at the flag man/ race director’s discretion.
  10. The flag man/race director is in complete control during the race and may disqualify or reposition any cars at his/her discretion. Calls which involves the exercise of judgement on the part of the flagman/ race director are final and binding.
  11.  If a race is stopped before completion, the payoff will be based on the last completed lap. The feature must be half completed to be considered a complete race. The scheduled number of laps will be run unless the drivers are notified prior to the race, unless under dangerous conditions or at the official’s discretion.
  12. Heat races – Each heat race on the race night will have one (1) minute per lap time limit. When the time limit is reached under green flag conditions and a caution is displayed the heat race will be completed and the finish order will be based on the last completed lap. If a white flag is displayed, the next green flag will end the race (yellow or checkers).
  13. Feature races – Every feature on race night will have a one (1) minute per lap time limit. If the race has reached the time limit and the caution is displayed, then one (1) green/white/checker will be attempted. If the white flag has been displayed and a caution comes before the leader takes the checkers, then at least one (1) green/ white / checkered will be attempted. If the time limit has not been reached, then multiple green/white/checkers can be attempted based on the flag man/race director’s discretion.
  14. All cars must take a green flag for the A-Main to qualify for payoff. Re-entering the race is allowed if a green flag has not been missed. A car re-entering the race in an unsafe manner will be disqualified for that event. The driver is qualified and receives points, not the race car.
  15. When weighing the race cars is in effect, the top five (5) in the heat race and the top ten (10) in the features must weigh, everyone must weigh on the same scale so be sure to check your weight on the scale prior to racing. The top five (5) cars in the feature are to report to the claim area.

  17. The officials reserve the right, in an emergency, to make special rules which are deemed to be conducive to the wellbeing of the race competition. The voluntary participation of any competitor in the competition shall constitute recognition of this right.
  18. Any person violating any rules or procedures may be penalized by the board of directors. Penalties may include disqualification, exclusion, suspensions, fines including loss of points and payoff.
  19. Every person who undertakes participation in a race competition shall be deemed acquainted with these procedures and shall constitute acceptance of them.
  20. The flag man/ race director oversees all race cars on the track. The pit steward oversees all pit activities.
  21. All race cars will have transponders, and all drivers must use a race receiver. One transponder per car per night. If transponders are changed during a race event it is up to the driver to notify officials of this change otherwise position and points will not be scored.
  22. If a driver goes out for their feature with a transponder that is known to not be working after the heat race and was warned by race receiver or the track officials, they will be disqualified from the feature.  If for some reason your transponder quits working after your het race or during the feature race and it is unknown to you and the track officials you CANNOT be disqualified from your feature race.  Any driver that wishes to have their transponder check should contact a track official; you will be allowed to drive your car across the transponder line by the flag stand to check that it is in good working order.
  23. Communication between crew and drivers while they are on the track is prohibited. Complaints of any communication devices being used while drivers are on the track can be filed with the officials, only by other drivers.
  24. All drivers must be either in the pits, in line to sign, or have called one hour prior to start time if you want your spot in your heat. If you have not called, are not in line, then you will go to the back of the line up in your heat.

IMCA and other sanctioning bodies rules will be adhered to.
